Dr. Catherine Hudon is the recipient of the André-Dupont 2022 Award!

Dr. Catherine Hudon of V1SAGES recently won the André-Dupont 2022 award from the Club de Recherches Cliniques du Québec (CRCQ).

This award is given annually to a young researcher with no more than 10 years of experience as an independent researcher for excellence in the field of biomedical research.

This article by Alya Danish, Marlene Karam, Judy Porter, Donna Rubenstein, Véronique Sabourin, Mike Warren and Catherine Hudon describes how the PriCare group (of which V1sages is a member) is integrating patient engagement into its program governance structure. Guided by CIHR’s PARS patient engagement framework, and in order to involve patients in the planning stages of a research project, PriCare uses a program logic perspective based on resources, processes and relationships.

On July 7th 2022, Minister Jean-Yves Duclos announced a $10M investment from CIHR and Healthy Canadians to support a pan-Canadian research team, led by Dr. Andrew Pinto at Unity Health Toronto.

Congratulations to the Can-ADAPT COVID project team, in which Dr. Catherine Hudon of V1SAGES is a co-investigator, for obtaining this important grant!

The research team will study the effectiveness of Paxlovid and other outpatient medications for COVID-19 and provide key insights into whether the treatments prevent hospitalization and long Covid.
